MindJet offers collaborative tools and business solutions that turn ideas into actions. This project was a bit of a departure from the more illustrative character animation we've been focusing on lately, giving us a chance to play around a bit with vector graphics, fun textures, and a bit of 3D motion. Produced for Epipheo Studios.Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Video Arts2012 -
Start Your Engines is narrated by a quirky old lawnmower who is desperate to save his weed wacker buddy from the harsh realities of old gasoline left in his tank over the winter. This project offered something different for us, as we got to stretch our legs using inverse kinematics for character animation as well as some lip synching for the narrator. This was a collaboration with illustrator Travis Mullen. Produced for Epipheo Studios.Motion Graphics, Animation2012 -

Alternate title sequence for the film Office Space. This was a collaboration with graphic designer Jason Dooley. We designed the characters and set, built it out of paper, shot the movie entirely in still photographs, and overlaid the text in After Effects after editing it down and syncing it to some of the music from the film.Animation, Storytelling, Motion Graphics2011 -
This project came to Baskervillain via the lovely folks over at Epipheo Studios. Vidly is a startup that wanted a motion graphics piece based on quick and snappy kinetic type and a few quirky graphics.Motion Graphics, Video Arts, Graphic Design2011 -
SilkRoad was an interesting project for us, in that for the first time the art style -- stick figures against a blue background -- had already been locked down. So rather than adding creativity through the character design and development, we had to place more attention on the story development and quick and snappy animation. And did you catch the cameo by our very own John Milam in the initial stop motion scene? Yessiree, chez Baskervillain was transformed into a movie set for a day. Fun times! We had fun with the character development in this video -- specifically with the "Fraud Fighters" who are a nod to film noir-era detectives. Produced for Epipheo Studios.Animation, Motion Graphics, Graphic Design2012 -
Series of letters - uppercase & lowercase - with punctuation, completely constructed out of light. The trick is to point a flashlight in a dark room with an open camera shutter and draw the letterform in the air. Very fun and expressive.Photography, Typography, Graphic Design2010 -
